Cheapest unlimited text to speech in 2026: flat-price ElevenLabs alternatives, real prices checked 2 October 2026
Which text-to-speech services are really unlimited, which charge a flat price, and what does one hour of audio cost on each? This page answers that for 17 services, ElevenLabs included. Every figure was read on the vendor's own pricing page on 2 October 2026 and links to it, and the per-hour column puts all of them on the same scale. Where an official site could not be read, the row says so instead of repeating a third-party number.
The short answer (2 October 2026)
- kreawave Unlimited costs €30 a month or €300 a year, VAT included. It has no monthly allowance and is never billed per character; usage is subject to our Terms of Service. The REST API is included.
- kreawave Pro costs €15 a month or €150 a year for 24 hours of audio a month: €0.62 per finished hour. Hour packs for subscribers start at €6 for 5 hours and never expire.
- The cheapest cloud subscription sold as unlimited for its whole catalogue is EasyVoice Pro: $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year (about $5 a month), and a one-time 7-day pass costs $4.99. Fair use is 10,000,000 characters per rolling 30 days; past that line generation is slowed, never blocked or billed. It has 66 voices in 9 languages.
- Among the one-time packs in this table, the cheapest per hour of audio are Tonvio's: $35 for 15,000,000 characters, about $0.14 per hour of audio, with no expiry. Tonvio accepts crypto only.
- Voice Delta lists Pro at $20 a month and Lifetime at $200 on the plan cards of its pricing page and home page; one FAQ answer on its home page still says $10 a month and $100 lifetime.
- ElevenLabs has no unlimited plan. Creator costs $22 a month for 121,000 credits (1 credit = 1 character on V2 Multilingual), about 2.1 hours of audio: roughly $10.5 per hour. Its API charges $0.08 per 1,000 characters on v2 Multilingual, about $4.64 per hour.
- Free and truly unmetered: Unlimited TTS generates in your browser, on your own device.
- Every paid kreawave plan includes all 3,337 voices in 23 languages, WAV and MP3 download and commercial use. The demo on the home page generates audio without an account.

Three different things that all get called “unlimited”
A flat price, with each vendor's own rules. Almost every plan sold as “unlimited” comes with conditions; what differs is which ones. EasyVoice Pro allows 50,000 characters per request and 10,000,000 characters per rolling 30 days, after which generation is slowed but never blocked or billed. kreawave Unlimited (€30 a month or €300 a year) has no monthly allowance and is never billed per character; usage is subject to its Terms of Service. kreawave Pro (€15 a month, or €150 a year) includes 24 hours of audio a month, and hour packs never expire. Voice Delta Pro caps each generation at 100,000 characters. Tonvio Unlimited takes up to 75,000 characters per text, and its $45 plan card shows one active job plus a queue of 15. J1 TTS sells “unlimited relaxed generations” from $35 a month, at 5,000 characters per audio and one generation at a time on that plan. Crikk Pro ($14 a month, or $97 lifetime) is unlimited on its free voices and 1,000,000 characters a month on its pro voices. None of these plans bills per character: check which conditions apply to your script.
Metered, with no unlimited plan. ElevenLabs, AnySpeech, TTS.ai, TTSMaker, Fish Audio, Cartesia, Murf, Speechify Studio and NaturalReader sell credits, characters, minutes or hours, and Narakeet sells one-time minute packs. Their bills grow with your output; the table converts each one to a cost per hour.
Unmetered because it runs on your own machine. Unlimited TTS synthesises in your browser for free, and Voice Delta offers a Windows desktop app ($5 a month or $50 once). Speed and quality then depend on your own hardware.
ElevenLabs alternative with a flat price
If the question is “which ElevenLabs alternative has a flat price or a flat rate?”, the list on 2 October 2026 is: EasyVoice ($9.99 a month, $59.99 a year or a $4.99 7-day pass), Crikk ($14 a month, $7 on its API page, $97 once, or $100 a month for unlimited API generation), Voice Delta ($20 a month, $150 a year or $200 once), J1 TTS (from $35 a month, relaxed queue), Tonvio ($45 a month, paid in crypto) and kreawave (€15 or €30 a month, VAT included). ElevenLabs itself meters every character: Creator is $22 a month for 121,000 credits, Pro $99 for 600,000, and its API charges $0.08 per 1,000 characters on v2 Multilingual.
What separates them is the limit that applies first: characters per request (EasyVoice 50,000, or 500,000 per Long-Form job; Voice Delta 100,000; Tonvio 75,000; Crikk 24,000 per file; J1 TTS 5,000 on Standard), a monthly allowance (kreawave Pro, 24 hours a month), a fair-use line (EasyVoice), a queue or the payment method. Voice Delta: $20 a month or $200 lifetime
The plan cards on its pricing page and home page list Pro at $20 a month, $150 a year or $200 lifetime, with 100,000 characters per generation; one FAQ answer on its home page still quotes $10 and $100. A Windows desktop plan ($5 a month) generates on your own CPU. Payment through Gumroad or in crypto.
Tonvio: $45 a month unlimited, or character packs, crypto only
Unlimited costs $45 a month with up to 75,000 characters per text; its plan card shows one active job and a queue of 15, while its FAQ and terms say 3 active jobs and a queue of 50. Packs go from $1.50 for 100,000 characters to $35 for 15,000,000. Subscriptions are prepaid for 30 days with no auto-renewal, and crypto is the only payment method.
J1 TTS: from $35 a month, relaxed queue
Standard offers unlimited relaxed generations at 5,000 characters per audio, one at a time, with files stored for 48 hours; higher plans raise the limit per audio to 18,000 ($65) or 40,000 ($85) and add the API. It imports ElevenLabs voice IDs.
ElevenLabs: no unlimited plan
Plans go from $6 (30,000 credits) to $990 (6,000,000 credits) a month at 1 credit per character on V2 Multilingual, about $10.5 per hour of audio on Creator. Its API is billed separately at $0.08 per 1,000 characters on v2 Multilingual, about $4.64 per hour. Voice cloning from Starter; prices exclude taxes.
Murf: 24 hours a year on Creator
Creator is $19 a month billed annually ($228) for 24 hours of voice generation per year, Business $66 a month for 96 hours a year, and unlimited generation is only on Enterprise. The API is pay as you go: $0.01 per 1,000 characters on Falcon and $0.03 on Gen2, up to 3,000 characters per request.
Speechify Studio: billed per second of voiceover
Studio Starter is $19 a month for 2 hours or $100 a year for 24 hours; Creator is $49 a month for 8 hours or $300 a year for 96 hours. The Speechify reader app ($29 a month) is a separate subscription for listening, not for producing voiceovers.
NaturalReader: commercial plans from $29 a month
The commercial AI voice generator costs $29 a month for 500,000 credits or $49 for 2,000,000; how many credits a character uses depends on the voice.
PlayHT and LOVO: official sites not reachable
On 2 October 2026 play.ht had no address in DNS and lovo.ai/pricing returned HTTP 402, so no current price is listed for either.
Worked example: what a 10-hour audiobook costs
A 10-hour audiobook is about 580,000 characters at 58,000 characters per hour. This is the cheapest published plan, pack or pay-as-you-go price that covers it on each service, as listed on 2 October 2026:

How the per-hour column is calculated
One hour of finished audio is taken as 58,000 characters of text, the rate kreawave meters with. It is applied to every character- or credit-based plan, with 1 credit = 1 character where the vendor says so (ElevenLabs for V2 Multilingual, AnySpeech for Advanced voices, TTS.ai for its free models). Where the vendor publishes minutes or hours (Fish Audio, Cartesia, Murf, Speechify Studio, TTSMaker, Narakeet), those are used as published. Pay-as-you-go API prices (ElevenLabs, Murf, Fish Audio) are converted the same way; Fish Audio bills per UTF-8 byte, which is one byte per character in plain English text. kreawave Unlimited has no monthly allowance, so its row shows what an hour costs at 120 hours a month; the more you generate, the lower that figure. Where no equivalence is published, no number is invented: Voice Delta, J1 TTS and Tonvio's subscriptions publish no monthly cap, and NaturalReader's credit cost per character depends on the voice.
No exchange rate is applied: the others publish in US dollars, kreawave in euros. kreawave's prices include VAT; ElevenLabs states that its prices exclude taxes. Each source is linked under the table with the date it was read.
Which option fits which use
A few clips a month. A free tier is enough: ElevenLabs gives 10,000 credits a month, EasyVoice 5,000 characters a day, TTSMaker 20,000 characters a week, Fish Audio 8,000 credits a month. A free kreawave account includes 10 minutes once, and the €1 trial gives one hour for 24 hours with no renewal.
Hours of narration every week, in several languages. A flat price keeps the bill fixed whatever you generate. kreawave Pro covers 24 hours a month at €0.62 per hour, hour packs (€32 for 40 hours, never expiring) cover a busy month, and Unlimited at €30 has no monthly allowance, with all 3,337 voices in 23 languages on every paid plan. EasyVoice Pro at $9.99 costs less if its 9 languages and 66 voices are enough for you; past its fair-use line it slows generation down, without blocking or billing.
Generation from code. kreawave includes a REST API on Unlimited. Running it yourself. Open-weight engines run on your own GPU, and Unlimited TTS runs in the browser for nothing. That is the cheapest route if you have the hardware and the time to set it up.

What changed since the 6 September 2026 check
Voice Delta's pricing page now lists Pro at $20 a month (it was $10) and Lifetime at $200 (it was $100); the plan cards on its home page show the same, but one FAQ answer there still gives the old figures. EasyVoice's fair-use line is now counted over a rolling 30 days and, once passed, slows generation instead of stopping it; EasyVoice Pro now includes voice cloning. Cartesia now publishes the minutes of speech each plan includes, so its cost per hour can be calculated. TTS.ai now bills 2 or 4 characters for each character on its standard and premium models and offers annual prices.
